Burning Man Film Festival

Presented by Town Hall Gathering

Once a year, tens of thousands of participants gather in Nevada's Black Rock Desert to create Black Rock City, dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. They depart one week later, having left no trace whatsoever. Burning Man is also an ever-expanding year-round culture based on a set of Ten Principles, and a source of creative inspiration for communities around the world.

Once a year Bristol has a 'town hall' gathering to answer FAQ and give past and future participants and opportunity to meet up and collaborate.

We will be screening a selection of short films including:

Simplicity, 2013
By Jared Morgan
This eye-catching short film skips the narrative to showcase high-definition visuals of Balloon Chain by Robert Bose, a familiar airborne vision soaring in the skies above Black Rock City.

Rules of the House, 2014

By Dan Porras
Rules of the House: Burning Man Gift Culture is a multimedia project documenting the diverse ways that cultures around the world measure and perceive well-being, wealth and happiness. This episode explores the gifting culture at the annual Burning Man festival.

Profiles In Dust, 2012

By Profiles in Dust Team
An Ongoing Documentary Series on the Artists of Burning man.

The Film Festival will conclude with a screening of The Temple Builder, 2006 By Dearbhla Glynn and Aprile Blake.

The Temple Builder is an intimate look at the life and work of artist David Best. Best is widely known for the ornate temples he and his crew built in the cities of San Rafael and Detroit and for the Burning Man festivals

Following the final screening there will be a Q&A session on going to Burning Man.

Get in touch if you'd like to get involved and host a free workshop.

Free tea and coffee will be provided but please bring your own cup :-)
