The Grip

A live production about families, separation and the Windrush

In collaboration with Trinity, Strike A Light brings to Bristol, a live production about families, separation and the Windrush.

"Growing up in Jamaica, all my cousins knew their mother because they grew up with her - I was the only child that didn't really have her mum around and it was an isolating experience. You know, I still haven't overcome it fully"

Be part of the live audience for a one-off, one-hour radio production discussing families, separation and the Windrush.

Drawing on real interviews and films created by film-maker Daniel Folley and producer Philippa Smith, the panel of guests will give their responses and will invite the audience to ask questions and offer their stories and experiences.

Hosted by BBC's Kevin Philemon with guests including Bristol's first Poet Laureate Miles Chambers and psychotherapist Audrey James.

Trigger Warning: This show includes sensitive topics such as forms of abuse, particularly from the perspective of those left behind and mentions suicide. Viewer discretion is advised.

Doors: 6:30pm

Start: 7pm
