Citizens For Culture Online Information Sessions
We are working with St Pauls Carnival and Citizens in Power to host the UK’s first Citizens’ Assembly for culture for an entire region in the West of England in 2025.
We are looking for people and organisations working in the cultural sector in the South West to become associates of the Citizens’ Assembly and help guide what happens next.
Over the next few weeks, we will be offering online information sessions for everyone to come along and find out more. The sessions will cover what a Citizens’ Assembly is and how you can get involved.
We are offering £25 to unsalaried attendees to help offset the costs of participation. We recognise this is unlikely to fully cover your time but we hope it acknowledges the barriers freelancers often face in joining information sessions.

Hosted by Citizens for Culture Project Partner LaToyah McAllister-Jones. LaToyah is the Executive Director of St Pauls Carnival and also works with national participation charity Involve to facilitate Citizens’ Assemblies. LaToyah is leading the design process for the citizens’ assembly and will be able to respond to your thoughts on the shape and content of the assembly.

Hosted by Citizens for Culture Project Partner David Jubb. David was the Artistic Director and CEO of Battersea Arts Centre from 2004-2019. He recently co-founded Citizens In Power with Saad Eddine Said. He is Project Manager for the assembly and will be able to respond to your questions on the strategic use of the assembly for the benefit of all parts of the region.

Hosted by Citizens For Culture Project Partner Emma Harvey. Emma is the CEO of Trinity Community Arts. She has been a driving force for how cultural buildings can use creativity as a tool for civic participation. Emma will ultimately oversee the delivery of the assembly and will be able to explore all topics with you related to the lead up to the assembly and the plans for how its outcomes will be delivered.
